I'm not sure what happened but somehow Steve felt there was a miscommunication with his assignment and living arrangements while in Iraq. One day he was living like a king, sitting on his various comfortable thrones, playing golf, enjoying his palace and the view and loving the finer things in life
The next thing he knew he was being escorted by HELO
(I learned today that this is the cool way of saying helicopter),
thinking that he was moving on even to bigger and better,
Only to find himself being dropped off in humble
circumstances and moving into what is known as a "POD" for the next 6 mos.
It looks as if the red lawn chair was placed there as a mock throne to help him cope
with the disapointment

Did he tell you why all those sandbags are there?
Don't ask him. ☺
At least your guy isn't living with the Iraqi's... tell him if he ever gets to Old MOD to look up Anderson-tall.
Yeah, i think they didn't want him to have to face reality that quick, so they let him get comfy and then swooped in with the HELO and took him to real life.
He'll always have the pictures though. :)
Oh the horrors of a regular FOB. King Steve seems to have been dethroned and exiled to Camp Taji. Poor guy. My husband told me the food at Camp Taji was some of the worst he's ever had. I'm sure this is a hard blow for King Steve.
Thank goodness for blogs!! I love reading up on him. He is hilarious. Did the kiddos just get a kick out of it?
